The Institute of Science, Nirma University, organized an expert talk on the topic Downstream Purification — From Harvest to High-Purity products. on October 29, 2026, for M.Sc. Semester III Biotechnology students, featuring Ms. Sarita B. Dagur, Senior Research Scientist in Process Analytics, R and D division, Lupin Biotech, Pune.
Ms. Sarita shared valuable insights into the role of different downstream processing techniques, with quality control
and periodic assessment methods, challenges faced during the purification of such low volume high price products and different mitigation strategies.
This lecture enlightened learners with recent techniques in downstream processing of R DNA products and transgenic products like plantibodies, Monoclonal antibodies, vaccines, Nutraceuticals, Biosimilars etc.
In this expert talk 44 students of M.Sc. Biotechnology, Semester-III have participated.
