Ms Niharika Ghoghari, PhD student under Dr Ravi Kant received the CSIR-SRF Direct 2023, Application no.: 113-487-2362/2k23/1 for continuing her PhD Project Titled ‘Role of Global regulator hfq in succinate mediated catabolite repression of mineral phosphate solubilization in Acinetobacter sp. SK2.’
Mr Keyur D. Shah, a Semester II student of MSc Biochemistry, Institute of Science, Nirma University is one of the proud recipients of the Science Academies’ Summer Research Fellowship – 2024, which is offered by IASC-INSA-NASI. He will be working under the guidance of Dr. Ritu Trivedi, Senior Principal Scientist, CSIR-CDRI, Lucknow for his research work.
Ms Nidhi Thakkar PhD student registered with Dr. Vijay Kothari, secured first prize for oral presentation (Emerging Scientist) at the “National conference on Antimicrobial Resistance Trends, Environmental Microbiology, and Industrial Solutions (ARTEMIS)” held from March 21-22, 2024 at the Institute of Advanced Research, Gandhinagar.
Mr Jimit Panchal, a student of MSc Biotechnology, Sem -II participated in the Photography contest organised on February 3rd 2024 by Institute of Design, Nirma University. Jimit’s photograph won the Special Jury Award. He received certificate of recognition and cash prize.
Mr Nikunj Umedbhai Tandel, working under guidance of Prof Sarat Dalai, received the Merck Registration fee waiver to attend and present the poster at EMBL coference: BioMalPar XVII: Biology and Pathology of the Malaria Parasites held from May 25-27, 2021.
Miss Chamaneria Akshita Akshay Kavita, PhD student working under guidance of Dr Shalini Rajkumar won the “AMI best Poster Award” at 61st Annual International Conference of the Association of Microbiologist of India and Indian Network for soil contamination research held during 3-5th February, 2021 and ‘Research Excellence Award’ at International Conference of Biotechnology for sustainable Agriculture, Environment and Health. The XVII Annual convention of the Biotech Research Society, India during 4-8th April, 2021.
Priya Patel, PhD student from Institute of Science, Nirma university working under the guidance of Dr. Nasreen Munshi won the ‘Best Poster Presentation’ award at National Conference on “Plastic in the Environment: Current Status and rethinking the future of Plastics” organized by Gujarat Institute of Desert Ecology, Bhuj, India on 7th March, 2020.
The Student Travel Bursary from IMMUNOCON organizing committee to attend the 46th annual conference of the Indian Immunolgy Society (IIS): IMMUNOCON 2019 organized by Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC) in Reproduction Health (ICMR-NIRRH) Mumbai from 14th to 16th November 2019 was received by Mr Nikunj Umedbhai Tandel, PhD scholar under guidance of Prof. Sarat Dalai.
Priya Patel, PhD student from Institute of Science, Nirma university working under the guidance of Dr. Nasreen Munshi won the ‘Best Poster Presentation’ award at International Conference on Microbiome Research held during 19-22nd November, 2018 at Pune organized by NEMR, the YSS lab and NCCS.
The FIMSA (Federation of Immunological Society of Asia- Ocenia) travel Bursary to attend IUIS-IIS-FIMSA course on “Basic and Advance Translational Immunology” held at Rajasthan university of Health Science, Jaipur, India from October 12-16. 2019 was awarded to Mr Nikunj Umedbhai Tandel.
Mr Hrimkar Buch and Mr Boman Doctor, students of MSc Biochemistry, participated in PG level Paper presentations for Biochemistry and won first and second prizes, respectively in Science Excellence-2018 at Gujarat University organized by its Botany Department on 20th September, 2018.
Ms Bhagya Iyer, PhD student from Institute of Science, Nirma University working under the guidance of Prof. Shalini Rajkumar, won the “Best Oral Presentation” award in Biotechnology 2018; an International conference on “From Evidence to Excellence and risk Management In Technology & Science” organized by Asfew Conference String, New Delhi held during 18-20th March, 2018.
Ms Madhavi Joshi, PhD student working under the guidance of Dr Amee Nair, received 2nd prize in oral presentation in a National seminar on “Advances in Biotechnology and Biomedical Research” organized by School of Life Sciences, Central University of Gujarat, Gandhinagar, held on 17th March, 2018.

Mr Manoj Patidar, PhD scholar working under guidance of Prof Sarat Dalai, presented a poster at National conference “Malaria Parasite Biology: Drug Designing & Vaccine Development”, organized by Institute of Science, Nirma University, Ahmedabad, 9-10th September, 2016 and won second prize.
Mr Hardik Patel, PhD scholar working under guidance of Prof Sarat Dalai, presented a paper in IMMUNOLOGY held during 13-17th May, 2016 in AAI Annual Meeting, Washington State Convention Center, Seattle, WA.
Ms Darshana Sureshbhai Brahmbhatt, MSc Biotechnology student working under Dr Sonal Bakshi, is selected for Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Scholarship program of Memorial University, Canada. The scholarship sponsors the study, travel, and stay during two years.
Mr Dhavan Sharma, MSc Biotechnology student was awarded Second prize for his oral presentation in Young Scientist Award category in 6th International Translational Cancer Research Conference-2016, which was organized by The International Society of Translational Cancer Research (ISTCR) and The Gujarat Cancer Research Institute (GCRI) at Ahmedabad, Gujarat during 4-7th February, 2016.
