Dr Shruti Chatterjee, faculty member at Institute of Science, Nirma University received the International Travel Award to present her research work titled: “Attenuation of Virulence in Multidrug-Resistant Vibrio cholerae by Chlorella variabilis Lipids: Implications for Microalgal Formulation Development” at the U.S.-Japan Cooperative Medical Sciences Program (USJCMSP) Conference on Emerging Infectious Diseases, held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 23–26 June 2026. This prestigious travel award which is jointly conferred by Gates Foundation and International Vaccine Institute (IVI), Korea, is a remarkable global recognition for her contributions to infectious disease research. Dr Chatterjee is one of the thirteen recipients selected worldwide for their outstanding research.

Another Prestigious Milestone:

Adding to this accomplishment, Dr Chatterjee has also been selected by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), USA, to serve as a mentor for Ms. Teresia Mutindi Kimeu, a PhD scholar from Kyoto University, Japan for a tenure of 1 year. This appointment under this distinguished program reflects international recognition of her expertise and commitment to nurturing the next generation of researchers in infectious diseases and host–pathogen interactions.
