Institute of Science, Nirma University proudly hosted National Science Day on February 28th, 2024, with an insightful keynote address by Dr. Sharad Gupta, renowned expert in the field of protein neurobiology. The event was a remarkable success, attracting students, teachers and researchers from across the region. Dr. Sharad Gupta, the distinguished keynote speaker, delivered a thought-provoking presentation on “Our Brain: The Last Frontier of Science,” explaining how brain functions and coordinates all the functions regulating the human body. His expertise and insights left the audience inspired and encouraged to prioritize mental well-being in their lives. Adding an educational dimension to the event, the Institute welcomed students to participate in the celebrations. The young minds actively engaged in a poster-making competition and a model-making competition, showcasing their creativity and scientific acumen. The enthusiasm and talent displayed by the M.Sc. and Ph.D. students of ISNU were truly commendable, reflecting a promising future for scientific exploration. Around 230 school students accompanied by 15 teachers collectively from Nirma Vidyavihar, Ahmedabad and Tapasya Integrated High School, Gandhinagar were a part of the event. Ph.D. students of ISNU shared their research activities to encourage and enlighten their career prospects of students.
07 Doctoral students participated in poster making competition while 17 M.Sc. students took part in model making competition. The poster-making competition allowed doctoral students to visually express their understanding of scientific concepts, while the model-making competition encouraged postgraduate students to translate theoretical knowledge into tangible, hands-on creations. The competitions not only fostered a spirit of healthy competition but also served as platforms for learning and skill development.
The event served as an excellent opportunity for students to interact with professionals and educators from the scientific community, providing them with insights into various scientific disciplines and potential career paths.
